The Granary - New Forest Self Catering

Come and stay at the Granary, our New Forest self catering is simply furnished in a cottage style.

The Granary is a long established detached self catering annexe to our home - Woodcutters - on the edge of the New Forest National Park.  The annexe use to be used by our mother, hence the name "Granary" and was originally converted from our garage over thirty years ago.

We are situated in a quiet location surrounded with trees and fields, once a New Forest small holding with a paddock and some woodland, it is well set back from the lane in a garden of about three quarters of an acre and is perfect for a relaxing break.

Our Location

The Granary is approximately half a mile from the open forest and from the village of Bashley, which has a general store and Post Office. The lane is unmade beyond us to the forest and is safe for children. It is a great cycling area.

New Milton has a main line railway station and is just 2 miles away, and the sea with safe bathing beaches is 4 miles. Christchurch with its delightful harbour and priory - 8 miles, and the Georgian town of Lymington with its Saturday market and numerous pubs and restaurants - 7 miles. Brockenhurst, a small village, just 6 miles.

There are lots of attractions to visit within the New Forest and Salisbury, Bournemouth, the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Winchester are are an easy day trip.

We are delighted to announce to our guests that we are virtually 'Carbon Neutral', with 7KW of photovoltaic power and significant solar water heating, as well as other green features. To celebrate we give a discount to any guests who arrive by foot or bike, and if you choose to come by train, we are happy to meet guests at New Milton Station in our solar charged electric car.

Our New Forest Self Catering Accommodation

Our delightful self catering accommodation is ideal for two adults and up to two children with a twin room and a full size double sofa bed.

 

Kitchen/Dining Room - fully fitted with ample cutlery, nice china, cooking pans and utensils and is accessed through the double glazed main entrance door. The kitchen includes:-

• Full size gas cooker with grill
• Microwave
• Sink with efficient electric hot water heater
• Fridge
• Toaster and Electric kettle
• New Ikea wood topped sideboard with storage cupboard and draws
• Dining table and 4 chairs (extra chairs available if needed)

Leading off the kitchen is a small bedroom containing:

• Two single beds with bedside lamps
• Armchair
• Chest of drawers
• Wardrobe and fitted carpet

Also leading off of the kitchen is the fully carpeted sitting room  looking out to a Chestnut tree, containing:

• Full Size double sofa bed
• Armchairs
• Separate settee
• Coffee/bedside table
• Antique corner cupboard
• Norwegian Jotul wood burning stove
• Colour television with DVD player

At the back of the sitting room is a door leading into a small lobby which contains ironing equipment, storage shelves and hanging space. Off of the lobby is a wash room with:

• Toilet and hand basin
• Shower
• Powerful wall mounted fan heater

From the lobby the back door leads into a small secluded garden with garden chairs for you to relax in and a BBQ for you to use on pleasant balmy evenings. Ample concrete parking is close to the main entrance.   

We regret that we do not take pets and ask guests not to smoke.
